On June 7-8, 2012, in Chicago, the Clinton Global Initiative will host its second convening of CGI America focused on jobs, education, and innovation. In 2011, President Bill Clinton launched CGI America to address economic recovery by bringing together businesses, foundations, NGOs, and government leaders. Each CGI America participant makes a Commitment to Action: a new, specific, and measurable plan that addresses a challenge facing the United States. To date, attendees have made over 100 commitments.

This event will bring together nearly 1,000 participants to attend plenary sessions and join one of 12 topic-specific Working Groups, which will convene multiple times over the two days. These Working Groups will provide opportunities to share knowledge, build partnerships, and generate commitments around the focus of their chosen group that will address unemployment, prepare Americans as competitive global citizens, and rethink current models that shape the U.S. economy and society.
