CLEAN FUEL & TRANSPORTATION
Leveraging Clean Energy for Cleaner Mobility
Nearly 30 percent of all American energy is used by the transportation industry. Despite the development of innovative transit projects, advances in biofuel technologies, growing natural gas production, and increased access to electric vehicle infrastructure, America still uses oil for 94 percent of its transportation needs. The Clean Fuel & Transportation Working Group will foster partnerships that are focused on increasing the adoption of new mobility technologies and developing strategies to spur investment in revolutionary transportation projects.
Procurement Momentum Fleet and transportation firms are sampling new fuels and propulsion technologies but will not deploy them en masse until the business case is there, however there are many new technologies and financing options that are pushing these revolutionary vehicles into the mainstream.
Electric Vehicle Adoption Electric vehicles are ready for prime time, but consumers still hold a number of misconceptions about reliability, range, and the cost savings potential of these world changing technologies.
Biofuels Transportation fuels derived from biomass can facilitate the transition to a sustainable energy economy, however, many questions must be addressed before the potential of biofuels can be realized.
